GlowTube Wireless Touch Lamp

The GlowTube is a simple idea done properly: a slim illuminated cylinder that stands anywhere, runs on its own battery and comes on with a tap. There is no cable to route, no socket to find and no switch to hunt for in the dark, which makes it useful in exactly the places built-in lighting tends to forget, such as a shelf, a hallway or a bedside.

The whole tube diffuses the LED evenly along its length, so the light reads as a soft column rather than a point source, and nothing about it glares when you look straight at it. Touch control cycles the brightness, letting it work as a low night light, a reading glow or a small accent that lifts a dark corner of a room after sunset.

Because it is entirely wireless it travels well: a suitcase, a camper, a rented flat, a garden table on a summer evening. Recharging is by USB, and a full charge covers several nights of ordinary use before the cable comes out again. Wipe the surface clean with a dry cloth, and keep it away from standing water since the housing is splash tolerant but not designed for submersion or for being left out in heavy rain overnight.
